Mackenzie Inc. in Vancouver seeks Civil Project Engineers with 4–15 years of civil engineering design experience to lead site and public infrastructure projects. The role requires knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and a passion for sustainable development and coordination from planning to approvals.

Licensed engineers are preferred. The position offers a hybrid office schedule, with in-office days Tue–Thu and optional remote Mondays/Fridays, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Support the project manager in delivering projects from conceptual planning through design and approvals.
• Perform engineering design, analysis, and research on project-specific code, standards, and jurisdictional requirements.
• Coordinate tasks, schedules, and deliverables with the project team.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, and agency staff to support project vision and permits.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff.
• Review drawings, calculations, and reports to ensure quality and alignment with goals.

Job description

We have an immediate opening for Civil Project Engineers based in our Vancouver office. Applicants shall have at least 4, and up to 15, years of experience in civil engineering design and have interest in site and public infrastructure design, sustainability, and development services.

This position will be involved in wide variety of project types, striving to integrate design and develop projects from conceptual planning to coordination of project efforts and through to approvals of design and construction. Specific, current knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D is required.

Licensed individuals are preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the project manager or project lead in delivering projects from conceptual planning through design, agency approvals, and construction.
• Perform engineering design, technical analysis, and research on project-specific code, standards, and jurisdictional requirements.
• Assist with planning, organizing, and coordinating project tasks, schedules, and deliverables with the project team.
• Participate in coordination with clients, consultants, and agency staff to support project vision, technical solutions, and permit approvals.
• Provide day-to-day technical guidance and mentorship to junior civil staff under the direction of the project manager or project lead.
• Review drawings, calculations, and reports prepared by junior staff to ensure quality and consistency with project goals.

Qualifications:

• Strong technical background in civil/site infrastructure design; large-scale site development experience preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a project team, taking technical ownership of assigned tasks and work packages.
• Experience coordinating with internal team members and external consultants; client and agency interaction experience preferred.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills when working with clients, firm staff, and agency personnel.
• Licensure, or ability to be licensed, in Washington, Oregon, and/or California, is required

Salary Range: $100,000 to $135,000
