IMEG is growing, and we'd love for you to join our team! We are currently seeking a Civil Project Design Engineer in our Bozeman, MT office. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Civil Engineer looking to advance their career!

Civil Project Design Engineer

As a Civil Project Engineer 2, you will serve as a Project Manager on some projects. You will also perform or mentor others in detailed engineering analysis, preparing reports, permit applications, and construction plans. This role offers learning and development opportunities with potential to advance into a high-performing Project Manager role. You will also direct and train Civil Design Technicians and Civil Designers.

You will evaluate, plan, and execute work requiring judgment in adapting standard techniques, and may devise new approaches to problems. You might exercise project leadership or oversee parts of large projects.

Principal Responsibilities
  1. Assist in proposal writing and project scoping.
  2. Coordinate staffing and scheduling with other PMs.
  3. Coordinate with planning, survey, municipal, transportation, and other civil departments.
  4. Direct design of water and sewer systems per local regulations.
  5. Oversee field inspections and certify improvements meet plans.
  6. Complete permit applications for various agencies.
  7. Interpret and apply design criteria to projects.
  8. Train and supervise Civil Designers and Technicians.
  9. Ensure high-quality construction documents are produced.
Skills
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles.
  • Understanding of construction materials and methods.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD Civil 3D (desirable).
  • Strong communication skills.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's or Master's in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer license.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, 6 preferred.
  • This position is not eligible for sponsorship.
