Job description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Certified Paralegal to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience working in a legal environment, with a focus on civil litigation and workers’ compensation law. The candidate will have knowledge of workers’ compensation and civil litigation law, procedures, steps, forms, communications, and software from initial client contact through trial.

Qualifications

  1. Knowledge of California workers’ compensation law, procedures, and forms
  2. Knowledge of civil litigation law, procedures, and forms
  3. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  6. Strong interpersonal skills and a professional demeanor
  7. Proficiency in Merus Case and Clio
  8. Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  9. Certified Paralegal

Key Responsibilities

  1. Manage files and deadlines using Merus Case and Clio
  2. Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, insurance companies, and staff
  3. Assist attorney with trial preparation, research, petitions, filings, writing, and communications
  4. Conduct legal research, draft legal documents, and prepare petitions and court filings
  5. Client intake
  6. Address issues and concerns as they arise and provide solutions
  7. Assist the attorney from start to finish
