Who are we looking for?

We’re seeking a Senior Civil Engineer – Civil Transit Design Lead to join our Canadian Operations. The ideal candidate will have over 15 years of experience in civil engineering, specifically in design and coordination on large-scale transit infrastructure projects, including civil works related to Rail Corridors, Roadways, and Multi-Modal Corridors (LRT/BRT), as well as Site Development/Linear Infrastructure.

Responsibilities include:

1. Leading civil engineering design for track grading, roadway, and multi-modal corridors, including median LRT/BRT, site development, and linear infrastructure.
2. Coordinating civil deliverables, drawings, and details from conception to final design in Civil 3D.
3. Leading small teams of engineers and designers, driving design phases, and implementing standards.
4. Mentoring junior staff and supervising EITs and Technicians.
5. Reviewing models and drawings, developing detailed project documents, and ensuring quality standards.
6. Collaborating with project managers, discipline leads, and other stakeholders to meet project goals within budget and schedule.
7. Managing communication with sub-consultants, municipalities, utility companies, and clients.
8. Overseeing report and contract document preparation for review agencies and clients.
9. Participating in various procurement environments, including Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build.
10. Adhering to BIM and Quality standards and contributing to standards development.
11. Opportunities for career development in design leadership, management, or supervision roles.

Qualifications:

• Post-secondary degree in Civil Engineering.
• 15+ years’ experience in transportation infrastructure design and engineering.
• Ontario P.Eng designation (or eligibility).
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Microstation.
• Knowledge of local codes and standards.
• Experience with BIM tools (preferred).
