THE OPPORTUNITY

Looking for a role doing what you love at a dynamic and innovative consulting firm? We are looking for a Intermediate Civil/Geo Engineering Technologist to join our team at our Kamloops, BC location on a permanent full-time basis.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for day-to-day operations within our CCIL certified Materials Testing Laboratory.
  • Perform materials testing and quality control.
  • Conduct field investigations including soil, aggregate, and groundwater sampling.
  • Prepare field reports and assist with technical documentation and data analysis.
  • Assist as a client/contractor liaison and provide support to the client as required.
  • Assist with calculations, modeling and analysis as required.
  • Support design and drafting for civil and geotechnical projects.
  • Participation in design and team meetings.
  • Maintain and calibrate lab equipment.
  • Adherence to company health & safety procedures.
  • Daily/Weekly required reporting.
  • Assisting with other duties as required from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completed a diploma in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering Technology from a Canadian University or College, or a recognized international equivalent.
  • 3-5 years’ work experience.
  • Registered, or eligible to register as an Applied Science Technologist in British Columbia.
  • Strong Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D & Microsoft Office.
  • Experienced in construction Field Review requirements to ensure substantial compliance with design and adherence to applicable local bylaws and provincial regulations.
  • Understanding of codes and standards that apply to the work we do.
  • The ability to work under pressure, prioritize effectively, manage deadlines, and have exceptional organization skills.
  • Strong English communication skills including strengths in verbal and technical writing, analysis, presentation, and interpersonal communication.
  • Strong analytical and detail-oriented skills along with exceptional time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively as part of a team.
  • A safety-oriented attitude with a strong work ethic and desire to excel and achieve.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license (or equivalent) and access to a vehicle.
