Job summary

Ballina Contracting, an Emil Anderson Group company in the Fraser Valley, seeks a Civil Field Foreman to lead a field crew on civil construction projects. You will ensure safety, schedule, and quality on site, reading drawings, staking grades, and coordinating tasks with the project team.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years foreman experience, strong leadership, MMCD knowledge, and a commitment to safety with the ability to work overtime when required.

Qualifications

  • Approximately 2-3 years experience as a Foreman.
  • Minimum 3 years of civil pipe experience in underground utility installation, including deep sewer, water, and storm pipe systems.
  • Proven earthworks experience, and keen understanding of underground utilities.
  • Ability to read and understand design drawings and specifications.
  • Strong leadership skills, and the ability to solve problems and adapt to a changing construction environment.
  • Must have practical working knowledge of the MMCD as they apply to on-site municipal civil construction, including interpreting specifications, standard drawings, and contract requirements.
  • Knowledge in excavation safety, shoring, confined space protocols, and WorkSafeBC standards.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.
  • First Aid level 2 considered an asset.
  • The ideal candidate should be based in the Fraser Valley.
  • The successful candidate should be a positive, motivated, outgoing individual who enjoys working outdoors, and has a willingness to work overtime when required.

The Opportunity


We’re seeking a Civil Field Foreman to join our team in the Fraser Valley supporting civil construction projects across the region.


As a Civil Field Foreman, you’ll lead a crew on site to get daily work done safely and on time. You’ll work hands‑on with a skilled crew in the field, ensuring safety, and efficiency every step of the way. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working outdoors, tackling big challenges, and being part of projects that shape communities.


Although we are a union affiliated organization, being an active member is not a prerequisite.


Your Key Responsibilities
