Job summary

AllRock Consulting Ltd. is seeking a Junior to Intermediate Civil/Field Engineering Technologist in Barrie, Ontario. This position offers part-time or full-time opportunities to deliver engineering services on various exciting projects. Responsibilities include quality control and field inspection, laboratory testing, and assisting project managers. Required qualifications include a College program completion in Civil Engineering Technology and 2+ years of materials testing experience. Proficiency in English and a valid driver's license are essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Materials testing experience required.
• Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle necessary.
• Ability to fill out reports clearly.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality control and field inspection on infrastructure projects.
• Conduct laboratory and field testing of soils and aggregates.
• Assist project managers with coordination and report writing.

The Position

AllRock Consulting is a fast growing Geotechnical/Materials Engineering firm that is looking for a talented Junior to Intermediate Civil/Field Engineering Technologist for part‑time or full‑time work. This is a unique opportunity to deliver engineering services on a wide variety of exciting projects across Ontario.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform quality control/quality assurance testing and field inspection on various infrastructure and construction projects.
• Laboratory and field testing of soils and aggregates.
• Laboratory and field testing of cementitious products (i.e., concrete, grout).
• Inspection and field testing during asphalt placement operations.
• Placing and assisting in Vibration Monitoring projects.
• Pile Driving Monitoring.
• Assisting project managers with field and lab staff coordination.
• Assisting project manager and engineers with report writing.
• Prepare and circulate testing results to clients.
• Collaborating with various AllRock staff to best serve the needs of our diverse client base.
• Other related duties as required.

Qualifications

• Completion of a College program in Civil Engineering Technology.
• Maintain a full and valid driver’s license.
• Have access to a vehicle for transportation to and from construction sites.
• 2+ Years of Materials testing experience.
• Hold a valid CCIL certification.

Preferred Skills

• Proficiency with spoken and written English is required.
• Strong capability to develop and maintain relationships with clients and all team members.
• Ability to fill out reports and other technical documents clearly.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong computer skills (i.e. Word, Excel).
