Canoco Civil in Canada is seeking a highly experienced Civil Estimator to join our team. The role specializes in earthworks and underground utilities, with proven experience in municipal rehabilitation and subdivision development.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5-10) years of experience as a Civil Estimator or in a similar estimating role.
• Proven experience estimating earthworks and underground utility projects.
• Demonstrated estimating experience in municipal rehabilitation and subdivision development.
• Strong understanding of civil construction practices, materials, equipment, and scheduling.
• Proficiency with estimating software and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for civil projects focusing on earthworks, underground utilities, municipal rehab, and subdivision development.
• Review drawings, specifications, and contracts to determine project requirements and scope.
• Perform quantity take-offs and pricing for labour, equipment, materials, and subcontracted work.
• Solicit and analyze subcontractor and supplier pricing.
• Identify risks, opportunities, and value-engineering options during estimating.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and operations to ensure constructability and pricing accuracy.
• Maintain estimating databases, cost histories, and pricing tools; support bid reviews and proposals.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Civil Estimator specializing in earthworks and underground utilities to join our team. The successful candidate must have proven experience estimating municipal rehabilitation and subdivision development projects, along with a strong background in underground utilities, earthworks, and land development.

This role requires an in-depth understanding of civil construction methods, materials, project costs, and competitive bidding. We are looking for an estimator who can independently prepare accurate and competitive estimates for complex civil projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for civil construction projects, with a primary focus on earthworks, underground utilities, municipal rehabilitation, and subdivision development.


• Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents to determine project requirements and scope.


• Perform quantity take-offs and pricing for labour, equipment, materials, and subcontracted work.


• Solicit and analyze subcontractor and supplier pricing.


• Identify potential risks, opportunities, and value-engineering options during the estimating process.


• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and operations teams to ensure constructability and accurate pricing.


• Maintain and update estimating databases, cost histories, and pricing tools.


• Participate in bid reviews and support proposal submissions as required.

Qualifications & Experience
