Your Role

As a Civil Engineering Technologist/Technician, you will:

  • Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to design and produce functional, preliminary, and detailed drawings for municipal drainage infrastructure, road construction and land development projects.
  • Create detailed engineering drawings, including plan, profile, and section views.
  • Prepare cost estimates, quantities, and tender packages.
  • Assist with contract administration tasks, including site visits, deficiency reviews, and report preparation.
  • Conduct fieldwork, including surveying, layout, inspection, and construction reviews.
  • Operate surveying equipment such as Total Stations and GPS data systems, downloading and managing electronic files.
  • Maintain organized note-keeping and file management for project documentation.
  • Collaborate with a team of engineers, technologists, and other technical professionals to deliver high-quality results.

What We’re Looking For

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or Technician program and eligibility for CET designation.
  • Proficiency in design software, particularly AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication abilities.
  • The ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects effectively.
  • A valid Ontario driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
  • Experience in a consulting environment (considered an asset).
  • A background in farming and agriculture (considered an asset).
  • Desire to live and work in rural communities.
