What We’re Looking For

Novatech is seeking a college graduate with a civil engineering technologist diploma to join our established and growing team. We are looking for an individual who is enthusiastic about using their technical abilities to assist with the design of infrastructure drawings and to prepare construction drawings for a variety of land development and public infrastructure projects. What You’ll Do

• Prepare preliminary and detailed engineering design drawings using CAD/Civil 3D per industry standards
• Assist with roadway, grading, and servicing design
• Work directly with other civil engineering technologists, civil engineers, planners and landscape architects and other project team members as part of an integrated multi-disciplinary project team
• Help prepare construction cost estimates
• Develop knowledge of current industry practices and standards
• Perform field inspections and field surveys as needed

Skills & Experience You’ll Need

• Knowledge of the following software: AutoCAD/Civil 3D; Microsoft Office applications
• Related CAD/design experience
• Task oriented with strong organizational skills
• Commitment to excellence and high quality work, with strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with technical writing skills an asset
• Ability to work both independently and within in a multi-disciplinary team environment, with strong interpersonal skills
• Field experience in construction inspection and/or survey an asset

Education and Accreditation Required

• Civil Engineering Technology Diploma, with design courses in storm and sanitary sewers, watermain, drainage, roadways and grading
• Minimum two years related experience
• C.E.T. designation, or pending, an asset
