About the Role

In the Land Development Department, we support your land development endeavors with a seasoned, multi-disciplinary team. We offer comprehensive services—from commercial plans to urban subdivisions—aimed at finding optimal solutions and ensuring seamless project delivery. Our team has extensive experience and deep understanding of municipal requirements, including the approvals process.

Our land development process includes a thorough assessment of natural site features to minimize environmental impacts and promote sustainable development.

Candidate Profile
  • University degree in Civil Engineering
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario
  • Experience as a Drainage Engineer with knowledge of the Drainage Act
  • 5+ years of land development project experience, especially under the Drainage Act
  • Experience in subdivision engineering or related designs is an asset
  • Authored an Engineers Report under the Drainage Act within the last 5 years
  • Certified Drainage Superintendent (asset)
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD / Civil3D
  • Excellent communication skills in English; French is an asset
  • Attention to detail, problem-solving, creativity, and effective time management
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently or in a team
  • Experience with project management and consulting engineering environment
  • Knowledge of modelling software (e.g., PCSWMM, HEC-RAS, WaterCAD, SewerCAD, EPANET) is an asset
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
Key Responsibilities
  • Design engineering components such as lot/site grading, drainage, and stormwater management
  • Author Engineers Reports under the Drainage Act
  • Engage with stakeholders, landowners, and municipal staff
  • Identify deficiencies and develop maintenance solutions
  • Prepare assessment schedules for municipal drains
  • Lead within the Land Owner Appeals, Tribunal, and Referee processes
  • Represent Egis Canada at public sessions and deliver presentations
  • Maintain positive relationships with clients and industry professionals
