Main Purpose & Function
The position supports the planning, design and implementation of public infrastructure projects in the Project Delivery Branch. Represents the Engineering Services division at meetings with the general public, key area stakeholders, advisory groups, key stakeholder groups, contractors and project partners. Under supervision of senior staff, develops and manages project work programs, in terms of scope, budget and schedule, including the procurement and management of technical consultants as necessary.
The position reports to the Senior Project Manager, who will provide strategic direction and oversight – such as appropriate technical standards and regulations, stakeholder identification and applicable CoV policies and procedures as it relates to design development and construction. Works collaboratively with multidisciplinary civil consultants, contractors, interdepartmentally within Engineering Services and with other CoV departments such as Supply Chain Management, Law, Planning, Parks, Facilities, Real Estate, and Corporate Communications to identify stakeholder and partner requirements and support the successful planning and implementation of large-scale bridge, road and utility related projects. This position may oversee and direct Engineering Assistant positions, Co-op students and technical consultants as required.

Where operationally appropriate and subject to change, the City of Vancouver has a Flexible Work Program. This program allows staff to work a hybrid work week from locations that are a daily commutable distance from their work at a City worksite. At this time this position is eligible to be part of the Flexible Work Program.
