Your Role
As an Hydrotechnical Engineer, your expertise will contribute to delivering high-quality, sustainable engineering solutions for our clients.
· Conduct hydrological assessments, including low-flow analysis and flood flow statistical analysis.
· Utilize industry-standard hydrotechnical modeling software to develop accurate analysis and summaries.
· Perform hydraulic design for river engineering projects, including weirs, intakes, and dams.
· Prepare technical reports and regulatory submissions to support permitting processes.
· Conduct energy and economic evaluations for hydropower plants.
· Ensure compliance with industry standards, project requirements, and environmental regulations.
· Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on hydropower projects ranging from $10M to $400M.
· Support continuous professional development and maintain a high level of discipline knowledge.
· Work safely and report all health and safety concerns.
· Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications
· Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc. or B.Eng.) in Civil Engineering.
· Professional Certification: P.Eng. designation in at least one Canadian province (preferably Alberta or Ontario).
· Experience: Minimum 6 years in Canadian consulting engineering.
· Technical Skills:
o Expertise in hydrotechnical engineering and hydraulic structures.
o Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Teams, SharePoint), with advanced Excel skills being an asset.
o Experience in hydrological modeling, sediment transport, and hydraulic analysis.
o Strong verbal and written communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
o Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines efficiently.
· Travel: Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $140,000. Please note that Tetra Tech considers various factors in determining pay, including but not limited to: education, relevant and demonstrated work experience in the role, skills, geographic location, qualifications, certifications, and other competencies relevant to the needs of the business.
