Job summary

Associated Engineering, a proudly Canadian, employee-owned company, is seeking a Civil Engineer to join our team in our Lethbridge, Calgary or Medicine Hat office. The successful candidate will work on municipal infrastructure projects including water mains, sanitary sewers, drainage, development and roadways, and will prepare studies, designs, cost estimates, and construction documents.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of civil engineering experience in design and construction.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Acting as the Engineer of Record for designs, technical reports, cost estimates, technical specifications and construction contract documents for work completed independently or by others through direct supervision.
  • Leading and collaborating with cross-functional teams from concept to design to construction.
  • Executing tenders, constructability assessments, contract administration, and inspection of municipal infrastructure projects.
  • Performing Quality Assurance and Quality Control reviews for other Engineers of Record on project deliverables.
  • Mentoring and coaching team of engineers and technologists on technical work and project management processes.

What you’ll do:

Does this sound like you?
  • Undergraduate degree in civil engineering from an accredited university.
  • Registered, or eligible for registration, as a Professional Engineer with APEGA.
  • 5+ years of civil engineering experience in design and construction of stormwater drainage, water transmission, sanitary sewer collection and grading projects in both brownfield and greenfield settings.
  • Proven application of government and industry design, standards, specifications, regulations and guidelines for water, sanitary and stormwater infrastructure design and construction.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D is considered an asset.
