Midwest, established in 1949, is seeking a full-time Civil Designer to join our team at one of our Western Canada offices. You will prepare grading designs, as-built drawings and 3D models using GIS/CAD software on Windows platforms.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or Geomatics is required.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D; knowledge of Global Mapper and terrestrial scanning is an asset.
• 0-5 years experience in survey, oil & gas, municipal drafting.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate drafting products using AutoCAD Civil 3D and other modelling programs.
• Analyze and create surfaces using data such as LiDAR and terrestrial scanning.
• Prepare site grading, road, pipeline corridor and pad facility designs.
• Prepare as-built plans.
• Compare site designs with as-builts.
• Calculate earthwork volumes.
• Understand survey plan content.
• Understand layers, line types and client requirements.
• Interact with internal and external clients to deliver a quality product.
