Job summary

Aplin Martin in Canada is seeking a Design Engineer to oversee the detailed design from concept to construction drawings, including tendering and construction administration for land development and capital works projects.

The role requires a minimum of 2 years of local design experience, registration as an EIT or P.Eng. in the province, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to manage multiple projects; salary ranges from $86,000 to $93,000 per year with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of local experience in design of land development or capital works projects.
• Registered as an EIT or P.Eng. within the province of work.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Ability to work on several projects simultaneously.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledgeable of tender preparation with construction administration experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of detailed engineering drawings (AutoCAD Civil 3D) for land development and capital works projects.
• Input to Project Managers for fee proposals.
• Prepare and review design calculations.
• Site and lot grading and earthworks balancing/optimization.
• Preparation of quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
• Contract documents for tendering and construction drawings; contract administration during construction.
