Binnie is looking for Civil Design Engineers – EIT to join our Development & Infrastructure group which provides professional civil engineering services for local municipalities and private developers alike. Typical projects include road and utility improvements and replacements, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control and major residential, commercial, and industrial developments.
This position is full-time in our Burnaby office, you will work with our supportive team of Engineers, Technologists, and Project Managers. You will carry out design work on projects from conceptual level through to detailed design and construction. This challenging role offers great mentorship opportunities.
YOUR ROLE:
• Preparing design drawings using AutoCAD or Civil3D.
• Performing design work in consultation with the Engineer of Record.
• Preparing reports, manuals, and technical memorandums.
• Preparing proposals and engineering fee estimates.
• Ensuring quality control procedures are completed as per Binnie’s Organizational Quality Management (OQM) Policy.
• Ensuring that project designs and calculations adhere to legal standard.
• Complete site inspection as needed.
WHAT YOU BRING:
• Completed Degree in Civil Engineering and registration as an EIT with EGBC.
• Valid Driver’s License and personal vehicle preferred.
• Previous hands-on experience working with AutoCAD or Civil3D.
• Strong written communication skills including technical report writing.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to manage multiple ongoing projects.
• Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, other consultants and contractors.
• Ability to work cooperatively and productively in a team environment.
• Ability to consistently maintain a high degree of accuracy and quality in work.
