Job summary

Wilco Contractors Northwest is seeking experienced foremen to lead civil, earthworks and landscaping crews across Edmonton-area projects. You will drive planning, execution, and safety, mentoring crews and coordinating with the Superintendent on manpower and materials.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as construction foreman or superintendent, civil projects preferred.
  • Strong leadership, mentorship and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid understanding of equipment operation.
  • Good numeracy, record keeping and comfortable with technology.
  • Ability to read and execute plans, read grade stakes and use a laser level.
  • Able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work unsupervised with a 3–5 person crew.
  • Knowledge of landscaping fundamentals: grading, planting, hardscape.
  • Promote a safe, positive team culture across departments.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Lead crews in the safe and efficient execution of construction activities.
  • Actively participate in field construction, including planning, execution, quantity verification, and quality control.
  • Communicate upcoming project needs to the Superintendent, including manpower, materials, and equipment requirements.
  • Coordinate daily work activities based on project priorities and schedules.
  • Supervise the safe and effective use of equipment, tools, and machinery.
  • Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to Wilco's high-quality standards.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance to ensure compliance with project specifications and schedules.
  • Train, mentor, and develop crew members in accordance with Wilco procedures and safe work practices.
  • Foster a positive team environment built on accountability, communication, and safety.

  • Valid drivers license.
