Under the direction of the Director of Planning and Lands, the incumbent is responsible for assisting with the management, administration and operation of all land use planning carried out by the City of Iqaluit. They will administer and review planning applications, conduct research and analysis of community planning issues and conduct community outreach on land use related issues. They will be required to make presentations at Council meetings, committee meetings and to represent the City at public meetings and Development Appeal Board hearings. They must possess a university degree in Planning or in a related field. APPI/CIP regulated membership is required. Provisional members or candidates for membership with APPI/CIP may be considered.
Required Qualifications:
  • University Degree in Urban and Regional Planning or related field;

Sous la direction du directeur de l’aménagement et du territoire, le ou la titulaire du poste est chargé d’aider à la gestion, à l’administration et au fonctionnement de tous les plans d’aménagement du territoire réalisés par la Ville d’Iqaluit. Il s’agit entre autres d’administrer et d’examiner les demandes d’aménagement, d’effectuer des recherches et des analyses sur les questions de planification pour la communauté et d’organiser des activités de sensibilisation communautaire sur les questions liées à l’utilisation des terres. Il faut également préparer et faire des présentations dans le cadre de réunions du conseil et des comités, et représenter la Ville aux réunions publiques et aux audiences de la Commission d’appel en matière d’aménagement. Les personnes intéressées doivent être titulaires d’un diplôme universitaire en urbanisme ou autre domaine connexe. Il faut une adhésion en règle APPI/CIP. Les membres provisoires ou les candidats à l’adhésion APPI/CIP peuvent être pris en considération.
Qualifications requises
  • Diplôme universitaire en aménagement urbain et régional ou autre domaine connexe;
  • L’adhésion réglementée APPI/CIP est requise, mais des membres provisoires ou des candidats admissibles à l’adhésion l’APPI/CIP peuvent être considérés;
  • Permis de conduire de classe5 valide.
Compétences et expérience souhaitées:
  • Excellentes compétences de communication tant à l’oral qu’à l’écrit;
  • Expérience pour élaborer des plans et des politiques;
  • Travail antérieur en administration et expérience dans les domaines municipaux, territoriaux ou du gouvernement fédéral sont un atout;
  • Connaissance des lois territoriales, y compris le régime de propriété foncière du Nunavut, l’Accord sur les revendications territoriales du Nunavut et les autres enjeux relatifs au Nord, est un atout;
  • Bonne connaissance des logiciels informatiques, notamment des systèmes d’information géographique, d’AutoCAD et de Microsoft Officer, sont un atout.
