A leading company in the City of Leduc is seeking a Director of Finance to provide effective financial leadership. This role involves managing financial policies and practices, ensuring accurate reporting, and leading a team of finance professionals. The Director will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer and other stakeholders to uphold best practices in financial management for municipal services.
The Director, Finance, provides effective financial leadership to the City, ensuring fair, ethical, and responsible decision making, appropriate management, and best-in-class financial management practices for the sustainable provision of municipal services. This position is responsible and accountable for financial management policy, practices, and outcomes of the City, including financial planning, accounting and reporting, financial policies and procedures, property assessment, taxation and collection, and asset and risk management.
This position helps ensure all internal and external financial reporting is timely and accurate and provides the most reliable information to internal and external stakeholders, including the Chief Financial Officer, Executive, Mayor and Council, taxpayers and other levels of government.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Director, Finance leads a staff complement of 14 FTE (full-time equivalent employees), including two managers.
