Site Description: City of Brampton's Rapid Response provides a uniform security presence at various locations including Rose Theatre, City Hall, Civic Centre, and other Downtown Brampton facilities, properties, assets, and events.
Position: Full-Time Rapid Response Security Guard
Site: City of Brampton, 150 Central Park Drive, Brampton, ON L6V0A3
Hours: Continental Rotation, 0700-1900hrs
Payrate: $18.50/hr
Averaging Agreement: Overtime is under Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours

Schedule Example:
- Week 1 - Days - Mon-Tues, Fri-Sat
- Week 2 - Days - Sun, Wed-Thurs
- Week 3 - Days - Mon-Tues, Fri-Sat
- Week 4 - Days - Sun, Wed-Thurs
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to and report incidents of criminal activity, suspicious activity, and hazards
- Unlocking and locking doors and offices
- Providing access control
- Maintaining a uniform security presence and customer service
- Deterring prohibited acts such as loitering, panhandling, smoking, skateboarding, and cycling
- Securing buildings after hours
- Completing patrols with electronic guard tour systems
- Working alone or in a team
- Conducting proactive patrols, addressing policy breaches, and noting facility concerns
- Writing detailed incident reports
- Investigating alarms and emergencies professionally
- Monitoring and controlling entry and exit of personnel and visitors
- De-escalating crises, supporting, and liaising with emergency services
- Contributing to team efforts
- Logging key, radio, and pager audits
- Handling lost & found items and inquiries
- Reporting unsafe conditions
- Providing first aid and medical response when needed
- Responding to various incidents and patrolling interior and exterior areas
Prerequisites:
- Valid Security License for Ontario
- Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C
- Covid Vaccine - two doses
- Valid G class Driver License and clean driving record
- Fluency in English (oral and written)
- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or related field preferred
- Certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
- Option to complete Paladin's UOF/MOAB training if lacking certifications (training costs covered, with a 6-month commitment)
- Legal authorization to work in Canada
