My longstanding client is expanding and has created a new role for a driven CIC Funding Manager to lead the planning, delivery, and evaluation of their community funding programme. This new role will put you at the heart of their social impact work — deciding how funds are allocated, managing partnerships, and making sure every pound delivers maximum benefit.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and run annual funding rounds in collaboration with the Board subcommittee.
  • Undertake research, develop partnerships, and coordinate funding competitions.
  • Manage governance and ensure robust reporting and public engagements around agreed funding initiatives.
  • Build relationships with community groups, charities, and partners.
  • Oversee funded projects to ensure they achieve agreed outcomes.
  • Track, measure, and report on the difference the funding makes.
  • Promote project successes through marketing and public engagement.
  • About you:
    Proven experience in managing and measuring grant funding, community development projects, or social impact programmes.
  • Strong understanding of governance, compliance and ethical fund management in a not-for-profit, social enterprise or community interest company setting.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with experience building effective partnerships across sectors.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills, with attention to detail and accountability.
  • Experience in impact reporting and communicating outcomes to a broad audience.

Desirable skills and experience

  • Experience running funding competitions or calls for proposals.
  • Familiarity with education, outreach, or community engagement programmes.
  • Knowledge of the CIC framework and reporting requirements.
  • Make a real difference to vulnerable communities.
  • Work for a not-for-profit with a clear social mission.
