  • May deliver and pick-up kettles and host at the kettle as required.
  • Ensure the security of donations.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

As a faith- and values-based organization, we hire and serve people of all backgrounds and walks of life - there is a place for everyone to belong here.**Mission Statement** The Salvation Army exists to share the love of Jesus Christ, meet human needs and be a transforming influence in the communities of our world.**Job Description:****POSITION PURPOSE SUMMARY:**The Christmas Kettle Scheduler plays a key role in the success of this annual fundraiser through the recruitment and scheduling of volunteers, as well as supporting the kettle coordinator as needed. **ACCOUNTABILITIES:*** Will assist in the recruitment of Christmas Kettle Workers (volunteers), assisting with orientation.* Help coordinate the schedule for kettle staff & volunteers, and responds to emergency absences, etc.* Make phone calls and send emails to recruit, retain and schedule volunteers.* Fosters and maintains positive working relationships with kettle sites.* May deliver and pick-up kettles to/from sites daily, ensuring the security of donations.* May host at the kettle, as required, to ensure necessary coverage for breaks, etc.* Record statistical data as required, for local/divisional/territorial offices.* Process official receipts for donations across Christmas Campaigns according to local receipting policy.* Performs other related duties as required. **WORKING CONDITIONS:*** This is a temporary full-time position* Some flexibility in scheduling required, some weekend and evening work may be required.* The Supervisor will set the hours of work and work schedule.* Working environment is typically in the office in generally agreeable conditions.* Required to wear appropriate Salvation Army identification* This job requires reaching, bending, and stooping frequently, working in a sitting, and standing position for periods of time.**Education, Qualifications and Certifications:*** A minimum 2-year college diploma or equivalent **Experience and Skilled Knowledge Requirements:*** A minimum of two (2) years' related experience (in fundraising and volunteer management)* Demonstrated ability to connect with and establish relationship with volunteers.* Valid Ontario Class “G” Driver’s License, personal vehicle required and insurance, current copy of driver’s abstract for review and verification that is satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion, is required. **Skills and Capabilities:*** Excellent interpersonal skills, integrity, and adaptability.* Ability to work with minimal supervision* Work in compliance with OH&S Act and Regulations and abide by The Salvation Army’s health and safety policies and procedures.* Honest, courteous, and punctual* Represent the organization in a positive, professional, and engaging manner.* Treat the property of The Salvation Army with due care and caution.* Proficient computer skills in all aspects of Microsoft Office.* Ability to enter data and perform statistical analysis efficiently and accurately.* A team player: ability to work in a compassionate, respectful, and non-judgmental manner.* Strong sense of integrity and confidentiality with professional ethics and a balanced sense of fairness and flexibility.* Salvation Army, in its sole discretion (i.e., The Salvation Army Abuse Registry) and provide an original copy of a Background Check with vulnerable sector screening as required.* Ability and willingness to develop an understanding and support for the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada and its implications as related to position responsibilities.**Compensation:**The target hiring range for this position is $17.95 to $22.08 with a maximum of $26.20.Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.The Salvation Army will provide reasonable accommodation upon request.
