Temporary Part-time Position: 17.5 hours per week

Contract Period: March 2025 to June 2026

Salary Range: $36.36 to $42.90 per hour

Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Manager, Allied Health Programs, the role of a Chiropodist, as a primary health care professional, is to improve mobility and enhance independence of individuals by the prevention and management of disease, disorders, injuries, and dysfunction of the foot and associated morbidity. This is achieved by providing advice on foot health, assessment of foot pathology, identification of treatment and other requirements, referral to other disciplines as appropriate, formulation of care plans, and provision of direct care as deemed appropriate and agreed to by the individual.

The Chiropodist will ensure that all organizational policies of LAMP and standards of the College of Chiropodists of Ontario are followed.

Required Qualifications

  1. Certificate of Competency and current registration/license without limitations with the College of Chiropodists of Ontario.
  2. At least three years’ experience, preferably in community-based care.
  3. Proficiency in the manufacturing of custom orthotic devices.
  4. Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively across all levels of the organization’s diverse workforce.
  5. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to clearly convey information and ideas.
  6. Positive attitude and dependable with strong initiative and the ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented atmosphere.
  7. Demonstration of knowledge, understanding, and practice of infection control and prevention.
  8. Demonstrated commitment to, and knowledge of, the principles of primary health care, health promotion, and community-based health care delivery.
  9. Demonstrated ongoing continuing education in practice and knowledge areas.
  10. Cross-cultural experience and a second language are assets.
  11. Ability to remain calm under stress.
  12. Perceptive and sensitive to the feelings and attitudes of others.
  13. Open-minded, eager, and willing to constantly learn and improve oneself.
  14. Knowledge of LAMP Community Health Centre, the South Etobicoke/East Mississauga community, and/or a second language reflective of the community being served are preferable assets.
