The Opportunity:

Canfor is currently seeking motivated and experienced individuals to join our team as a Chip Truck Driver. As a Chip Truck Driver, you will be responsible for the safe operation of a Chip truck at our Prince George Sawmill.

The Role

1. Drive long hours under varying weather, site, and road conditions safely.
2. Perform pre-trip inspections and complete minor repairs including fueling, lubricating, and washing the truck.
3. Be physically fit with excellent mental focus.
4. Communicate clearly and concisely via radio and interact with various personnel throughout the day.

The Candidate

1. Must hold a Class One Driver’s License.
2. Must be able to furnish proof of certifications/licenses and provide a driver’s abstract.
3. Available to work a regular shift from Monday to Thursday for 10 hours, with regular overtime opportunities.
4. Able to work safely and efficiently.
5. Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
6. Ability to analyze and troubleshoot.
7. Maintain a positive attitude and be a self-starter.
8. Able to work in environments that may include exposure to weather, dust, chemicals, moving mechanical parts, and noise.

Preference may be given to those with a Level 3 First Aid ticket and/or knowledge of the lumber manufacturing process.
