The starting salary for this role is £15.82 per hour PLUS additional £2.37 per hour annual leave allowance.
This role offers flexible working with availability for before and after school hours, during school holidays and at the weekend and is offered as a bank opportunity meaning any hours worked will be agreed with you in advance with your line manager.

We are looking for people who have the passion and dedication to help ensure that children with disabilities are enabled to reach their full potential. Although you might not have worked as a Support Worker before – if you have experience of working with disabled children in a different setting, we have a strong in-house training programme that will build on your existing skills and give you the confidence to grow in this career.
Our Children with Disabilities Outreach Service provides care and support for children with disabilities in their home or in their local community. Our aim is to provide a quality assured service as part of a child’s care plan, with the overall mission of improving outcomes for disabled children in Surrey. We are looking to grow our team of Support Workers across all areas of Surrey!

About The Role Of a Children Support Worker
This is a challenging but genuinely rewarding career where you will play a key role in supporting children to reach their full potential. This will involve helping them in their own home with personal care and manual handling tasks but also helping them to access leisure and community opportunities.
We match our Support Workers to the child based on your experience, skills and availability; ensuring we provide a consistent service that is specially tailored both to the child’s care plan and your strengths.
We support children across Surrey, but will aim to match you with a child within half an hour of your home. Due to the nature of the role, you should be confident and comfortable in a lone working environment.
Shortlisting Criteria
To be considered for shortlisting for this position your CV and answers to the questions below will clearly evidence :
Surrey has both urban and rural areas and you will be expected to have a valid driving licence to drive in the UK and access to a vehicle. Reasonable adjustments where needed will be made for successful applicants who have a disability or long-term health condition to enable them to fulfil the requirements of the job.

Local Government Reorganisation
Surrey County Council is preparing for Local Government Reorganisation which will allow us to implement the Government led policy of devolution, which is all about giving more powers to local areas.
Currently, Surrey has a two-tier council system, with 11 district and borough councils and a county council, all responsible for different services. All these councils will be reorganised into a smaller number of new unitary councils which will come into effect in April 2027. At this point, this role will be transferred, with all existing terms and conditions intact into one of the new unitary councils.
