We have an exciting opportunity for a paediatric registered nurse who has experience/interest in long term conditions to join the children's epilepsy team.
The post holder will work as part of this team ensuring the delivery of high-quality health care, education and support to children and families within the home, school and in various community settings
The post holder will need to have enthusiasm and a passion for patient safety and service improvement.

To support the Clinical Manager in the daily operational management and leadership of the Children's Epilepsy Service ensuring the delivery of high-quality health care, education and support to children and families within the home, school and in various community settings.
To initiate and co-ordinate appropriate services in order to facilitate the early discharge and manage children and young people newly diagnosed with Epilepsy at home.
To liaise directly with the multidisciplinary team and other agencies to facilitate seamless high quality Epilepsy care to the child and family at home and clinic.
To work as a member of the Children's Epilepsy multi-disciplinary Team, providing a holistic and developmental approach to Epilepsy from infancy through to adolescence.
To Work in conjunction with the Clinical Manager, nursing staff, paediatricians, service users and the Directorate and Divisional senior management teams, the post holder will co-ordinate, prioritise, appropriately delegate and organise the safe and effective running of services.

To effectively co-ordinate care to ensure a seamless and timely pathway of care for children and families.
To manage the patient caseload providing assessment, planning, implement and evaluate care delivery using clinical knowledge and clinical skills.
To provide specialist care and advice for young people and families in hospital /home /school /work & college via phone/ face to face
To be responsible for ensuring the provision of compassionate, safe and high quality care of all patients.
To ensure the delivery of quality care to patients and to supervise the working of junior staff during the span of duty.
To provide nursing clinical expertise, leadership and education, supervising junior staff to gain competence and expertise.
To confidently escalate in a timely manner to Clinical Manager, Matron, On Call Consultant, General Manager, Clinical Director, Associate Director of Nursing and Senior Management Team (as appropriate) concerns about patient safety, quality and experience, offering solutions and evidence-based recommendations.
