Job summary

A leading community organization is seeking a Children's and Families Practice Lead to provide supervision and support to a dedicated team. This role involves overseeing team success, conducting annual reviews, and leading training for staff. Ideal candidates will have a degree in Child and Youth Care or Social Work and experience with child-focused frameworks.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Child Development and Diverse abilities.
  • Understanding of Early Years and F-Words Frameworks.
  • Knowledge of CARF standards and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision and support to a team of 8-10 staff.
  • Conduct annual reviews and in-service training sessions.
  • Attend provincial or regional meetings as needed.

Job description

Position Title: Children's and Families Practice Lead (excluded)

Hours: 10 hours per week

Rate of Pay: $53.00 per hour

Starting Date: ASAP

We are seeking an individual to offer our Children's and Families' team direct supervision and support. This team is comprised of 8-10 coordinators and paraprofessionals who also lead teams varying from 3-25 staff. The practice lead will update the Executive Director regarding the team members' successes and challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Annual Reviews.
  • Reflection team meetings.
  • One to one meetings.
  • In-service trainings for staff.
  • May include attendance at provincial or reginal meetings as needed.

Education and experience in:

  • Child Development and Diverse abilities.
  • Reflective Practice and Group supervision.
  • Early Years and F-Words Frameworks.
  • Circle of Security and/or Nobody's Perfect.
  • CARF standards and processes.
  • Supervision at the leadership level.
  • Union relations/collective agreements.
  • Knowledge of provincial resources for children and families.
  • Bachelor Considered; Masters preferred in Child and Youth Care, Social Work or related discipline.
  • Registration with provincial body such as BCASW or BCACC an asset for practicum supervision duties as needed.
