St. John’s Norway, an urban church in Toronto, seeks a Children’s Minister to lead its growing ministry for ages 14 and under. The role involves coordinating Sunday classes, managing volunteers, and organizing special events to enhance spiritual education and community for children.
St. John’s Norway is an urban church experiencing wonderful revitalization, close to TTC and ample parking. The church seeks an individual with spiritual gifts of leadership, evangelism & discipleship, organization and teaching of our ages 14 and under population to be our Children’s Minister.
The main purpose of the position is to co-ordinate the Children’s Ministry on Sunday mornings. This includes overseeing the classes, co-ordinate the teachers, and recruit volunteers gifted in the area of Children’s Ministry, ordering the curriculum for all classes (training in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd an asset), planning and co-ordinating special events (e.g.: Church picnics, Christmas pageant) for our children and parish, and being responsible for the day-to-day running and the spirit or environment of the Children’s Ministry.
Salary to be determined based on experience/qualifications to a maximum 12-month gross to be determined. Time commitment is an estimated 10 hours a week. Seasonal training sessions are available for professional development.
