This position has an anticipated start date of June 30, 2025 and is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs program for 8 weeks. Applicants must meet Canada Summer Jobs requirements, including but not limited to: being between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment, and not being on work or study visas.
About Our Centre- Located at St.Amant’s head office, 440 River Road
- Open from 7:00am to 6:00pm, Monday to Friday
- Supports infant and preschool-aged children
- Inspired by the Reggio Emilia Approach and practicing Circle of Security as a relationship-based early intervention
- Features large outdoor green space with a forest used daily
Position Summary and Scope of Service- The CCA develops and implements a play-based, child-centered emergent curriculum for infants to preschool-aged children.
- Responsible for planning and implementing interactions, environments, and experiences based on inclusion and diversity, tailored to each child's needs, interests, and abilities.
- Ensures the overall care and well-being of children in accordance with the Manitoba Child Day Care Standards Act and the mission and values of St.Amant and River Road Child Care.
Qualifications- Current certification as a Child Care Assistant or eligibility under the Manitoba Child Day Care Standards Act
- Valid emergency first aid certificate and CPR as per Manitoba standards
- Previous experience caring for children in a child care setting; experience with children with special needs is an asset
- Experience in an interdisciplinary environment is an asset
- Physically fit to lift, transfer, feed, and toilet children, and to use low chairs
- Able to wash and disinfect toys and move small furniture and equipment
- Effective team player
- Knowledge of Manitoba Child Day Care Standards Act
- Completion of a 40-hour/CCA course recognized by Manitoba
