A community support organization in Hamilton seeks a Child and Youth Facilitator to provide counseling and therapeutic support to children exposed to gender-based violence. The role involves working closely with mothers and caregivers while collaborating with external agencies. Post-secondary education in social services and experience in counselling are essential. This temporary full-time position offers opportunities for professional development and support for continuing education.

Hours : Primarily Monday to Friday 9am-5pm; some evenings, weekends, or extended hours may be required.

This opportunity is with our Good Shepherd - Womens Services - Martha House.
The Child and Youth program is a psycho-educational program designed to support children up to 18 years of age who witness gender-based violence and to provide individual and family counselling addressing the complexities these children face. Our programs often work closely with community stakeholders including schools, other VAW agencies, child welfare and family court systems to develop unique programming for children and women in the VAW programs.
The Child and Youth Facilitator will work in collaboration with the Community Support Services LEAF Facilitator and Child and Youth Facilitator to provide group; the incumbent also works with mothers and caregivers primarily in the residential program providing insight on the impacts of woman abuse on children and support with developing healthy meaningful relationships between caregiver and child.
