Position Overview

Under the direction of the designated Assistant Director of Child Welfare, the INTEGRATED TRAINING AND QUALITY IMPROVEMENT STAFF DEVELOPMENT MANAGER is responsible for managing the delivery of Child Welfare services; provides direction and supervision to Child Welfare staff; ensures consistency of standards within the Agency’s Mikinaak Service Model so that services and programs express the policies and procedures of Dilico, and are within the legal framework of the Child and Youth Family Services Act (CYFSA).

Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Child Welfare, the INTEGRATED TRAINING AND QUALITY IMPROVEMENT STAFF DEVELOPMENT MANAGER is responsible to deliver Child Welfare training modules to staff and review/recommend changes to enhance curricula to ensure Indigenous content. The Child Welfare Training Manager serves as a trainer in a variety of capacities; in the classroom, on a web-based discussion group or chat group, supporting learners engaged in self-study.

The INTEGRATED TRAINING AND QUALITY IMPROVEMENT STAFF DEVELOPMENT MANAGER, in conjunction with the Management Team, is responsible for ensuring the implementation of integrated service delivery from the initial point of contact to discharge for all children, youth, and families receiving services from Dilico.

Qualifications And Requirements

  • A minimum three (3) year BSW or other three (3) year Social Services Degree is required. A four (4) year HBSW is preferred. Candidates without the specific education qualifications, but who possess an appropriate combination of child welfare experience and other academic qualifications, will also be considered.
  • Three (3) years or more managerial experience in Child Welfare Protection Services.
  • Direct service experience with Indigenous children, youth families and communities.
  • Expertise in application of adult education principles and methods, group facilitation, consensus building and consultation.
  • Experience in delivering training programs to meet the needs of diverse adult participant groups.
  • Knowledge of cultural competency.
  • Required to work flexible hours, travel regularly as determined by the respective Assistant Director of Child Welfare in relation to service requirements.
  • Must possess a Class “G” Driver’s License and have access to a personal vehicle which will pass a safety inspection.
  • Must havethe ability to work shift work, flexible hours.
  • A valid Class “G” Driver’s license, access to a reliable personal vehicle, and $1,000,000 liability vehicle insurance.
  • A current criminal and vulnerable records check (within 6 months).

Hours of Work: 32.5 hours per week
