We seek innovative, passionate professionals with child welfare experience who embody diversity/anti-oppression practice and are committed to excellence and a “How Can I Help?” leadership style.

Child protection workers ensure the safety and well-being of children as defined by the Child, Youth & Family Services Act. They assess risks and strengths of families in the community and support families in building capacity to care for their children. Key responsibilities include assessing risk, well-being, and planning for permanency through collaboration with families, kin, and community partners.

This position supports the agency’s commitments to Leadership, Excellence, Strength-Based Practice, and Anti-Oppressive Practice, aligning with the agency’s mission, values, and strategic initiatives.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE
  • Solid skills in child welfare case management
  • Superior skills and experience in clinical assessment, counselling, and crisis intervention
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, especially in record-keeping and reporting
  • Knowledge of family services and child-in-care issues
  • Proficiency in French is considered an asset
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's or Master's of Social Work degree from a recognized university with at least one year of related experience in a child protection role, OR
  • A Bachelor's Degree in a related field with at least one year of relevant experience

A class "G" driver's license and daily access to a vehicle are required.

HOURLY RATE

- Authorized Child Protection Workers: $40.37 - $52.00

- Unauthorized Child Protection Workers: $37.22
