Job description

Join to apply for the Child and Youth Worker - SHINE role at 360°kids.

This is a contract role until May 2026, with a schedule from Monday to Friday, rotating shifts from 7 am to 3 pm and 3 pm to 11 pm.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide life skills support, mentoring, and access to services addressing issues faced by youth, such as employment, family issues, shelter, and counseling.
  • Facilitate programming to build youth skills for independence.
  • Administer medication, monitor, and manage storage and disposal.
  • Offer informal counseling and advocate for youth.
  • Manage crisis situations ensuring safety and report incidents.
  • Create a welcoming environment, oversee meal prep, and maintain cleanliness.
  • Ensure program accessibility, enforce rules, and handle intake/discharge planning.
  • Document case notes, reports, and perform administrative duties.
  • Manage case plans and assist youth with accessing community resources.
  • Build relationships with community partners and contribute positively to 360°kids.
Education & Skills
  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • At least three years’ experience working with at-risk youth.
  • Training in TCI, Suicide Prevention (assets), First Aid/CPR, and BRC.
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driver’s abstract, and insurance.
  • Knowledge of youth services, regulatory environment, and client-focused counseling skills.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, leadership, and advocacy skills.

Note: The program is accessible 24/7 with staff on-site. Candidates must be able to climb stairs; the facility is not accessible for mobility devices.
