A local family and children's service organization is seeking a Child and Youth Worker for a full-time, 18-month contract in Schumacher, Ontario. Overview

Child and Youth Worker Section 23 Classroom – Full-time, 18-month contract position in Timmins (FW Schumacher)

Responsibilities

The Child and Youth Worker primarily helps deliver educational programs in the French elementary and secondary systems during the school year, providing support to the teacher working with individual or groups of students. During the school year the Child and Youth Worker delivers daily support to students, as well as instructing life skills programming and is also responsible for performing all direct work with the FW Schumacher Program. Duties also include, but are not limited to administering therapeutic programming, monitoring and participating in activities, completing records, logs and inventories, performing building safety and security checks, providing counseling to children and youth in the Program.

  • Experience working with youth and families is considered an asset.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Bilingualism (English / French) is required.
  • Must have a valid G driver’s license and use of own vehicle.
Qualifications

Successful completion of a diploma and/or degree from an accredited College and/or University in Social Services, Human Services, Police Foundations, Community and Justice Program, Paramedic or Registered Practical Nursing (RPN) Diploma.
