Responsibilities
  • Develop, manage and evaluate annual and multi-year plans for all Senate-occupied building facilities; provide an integrated and horizontal assessment of tenant services plans to ensure linkages and alignment, as well as the identification of common activities and requirements.
  • Develop and maintain an integrated framework to deliver and support accommodation services to Senate clients, and manage base building maintenance requirements for the renovation, repair and refitting of all Senate-occupied buildings; develop and manage operational strategies and processes that support ongoing planning and forecasting of maintenance needs.
  • Establish an occupant relationship management strategy, consulting with clients regarding services and special requests, determine needs and present alternatives that better align with Senate policies and standards.
  • Plan and organize office moves and major occupant relocations stemming from long-term LTVP construction/renovation projects; advise the Manager and the Director on emerging and existing planning and problem issues.
  • Manage a team that supports the Chief, Tenant Services in carrying out the mandate.

The general public to staff one (1) full-time indeterminate position in the Property and Services Directorate. This selection process may be used to staff determinate or indeterminate positions at the same level with similar requirements.

Prerequisites
  • Successful graduation from a college or technical institution in facilities management OR an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.
  • Knowledge of the concepts, principles, methods and practices relating to facilities management, accommodation and property administration, as well as in regard to ongoing maintenance, restoration, renovation and refitting of base buildings and operational systems.
  • Experience in the planning and management of tenant services in a complex environment involving heritage buildings and other facilities.
  • Experience in developing and managing operational strategies and annual business plans for the delivery of multi-faceted accommodation, building maintenance, office moves and other related projects.
  • Superior client relationship management skills.
  • Resource planning, coordination and integration skills.
  • Previous experience in team management is an asset.
  • Critical thinking and problem resolution skills.
