Reports to Chief Operating Officer.

Serving as both Chief Technology and Chief Data Officer for the company and leading a professional team of technology and data practitioners through seven direct reports, the CTDO is a critical leader in the organization. The role is responsible for developing the Information/Technology/Data strategy/roadmap for IMCO and ensuring it enables and supports the achievement of strategic business plans. The CTDO will lead the continued build-out of their technology platform, solutions, services, and teams, using strong business acumen to make essential tradeoffs on short vs. longer-term technical investments. The CTDO will be a role model/thought leader, strong in problem-solving, technical in engineering principles and processes, and current on new innovative technology methodologies.

As a Member of Our Team, You Will be Responsible For:

  • Define the technology strategy, vision and roadmap in alignment with the organization’s digital business strategy.

  • Act as IT thought leader; bring a recognized authority on data, information and technology. Provide a vision regarding modernization – making limited, judicious investments to create a fit- for-purpose solution.

  • Drive IMCO’s technology, data, cybersecurity, and AI strategy, including budgeting, business plan development and financial management of the technology and data spend.

  • Deliver enterprise value by managing major data-driven change initiatives, including supporting AI readiness.

  • Define and deliver on a data and analytics strategy, help IMCO evolve to a data-driven culture, support enhanced data literacy across IMCO, and mature data and analytics governance practices.

  • Lead and develop a strong team, ensuring direct reports and their teams are aware of and connected to the strategy and deliver on business needs while continuously honing their business acumen, service/problem-solving skills and technical expertise.

  • Build and maintain a strong succession pipeline of talented team members including SMEs and leaders. Effectively motivate, develop, coach and mentor a high performing, high trust team.

  • Identify technology risks and recommend/implement appropriate mitigations, drawing upon a strong understanding of technology developments and trends in the financial services sector as well as a broad understanding of the financial services industry.

  • Maintain awareness of new technologies and drive all technology-related aspects of IMCO’s digital evolution.

  • Develop and maintain the enterprise architecture/strategy framework that governs the decision-making process for technology investments.

  • Identify opportunities to leverage automation for increased scalability and collaborate with internal groups and clients to create and maintain effective technology systems that deliver best-in-class products and services. Ensure that technology serves as a strategy accelerator.

  • Ensure security is integrated throughout all technology systems to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of company, client and end-user data.

  • Represent IMCO at a wide variety of industry forums and associations.

  • Establish strong relationships with key leaders to help achieve corporate objectives as a single, cohesive team. Work with functional and business leaders to exchange information, present new methodologies, and discuss new technologies and advancements.

What do you need to succeed?

  • As a senior leadership team member, possess the ability to present, advise and influence senior management, the Board of Directors and external stakeholders.

  • Broad experience working as a senior technology executive in the financial services industry; exposure to the investment management sector is preferred.

  • Prior success in creating, communicating, and executing a long- term, ideally enterprise-wide technology and data vision, an ability to balance strategic vision with execution excellence.

  • Deep knowledge of a broad range of technology and data aspects including IT Strategy, IT Infrastructure Management, Outsourcing, Technology Integration, Cloud Computing, Cyber Security, Agile Methodologies, Business Analysis, Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Data Governance, Data Management.

  • Experience driving digital transformation, through a ground up build or mature evolution.

  • Experience leading the technology and data aspects of strategic business expansions or new business buildouts.

  • Experience building, leading, and developing strong teams.

  • Experience integrating Environmental, Social, and Governance practices into the organization's long-term technology strategy.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related subject. ITIL qualification preferred. Additional academic qualifications preferred.
