Country Ribbon Inc. is proud to provide customers with nutritious and delicious fresh and frozen chicken products produced in Newfoundland and Labrador from its farm, feed mill, and processing facilities. The company is owned by Atlantic Poultry Incorporated (API), a private company that is 100% owned and operated by Atlantic Canadian farmers.

Country Ribbon is an industry leader in the production of high-quality products, employing over 300 people and marketing its products under Country Ribbon, Pinehill, Cabot Farms & Kirkland brands. It is the province’s only fully integrated chicken producer and processor, involved in every stage of the process, from farm to plate. A market leader in the poultry industry in Newfoundland and Labrador and beyond, Country Ribbon Inc. is an anchor in the local agriculture economy and is critical to the region’s retail, restaurant, and poultry supply chain.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief People & Culture Officer (CPCO) serves as a strategic partner and culture leader within an integrated production environment, overseeing all aspects of human resources, talent management, and organizational development. This executive role drives initiatives to attract, retain, and develop top talent while fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance workplace culture. The CPCO ensures alignment between people strategies and organizational goals, enabling sustainable growth and operational excellence. Fostering high performance, cohesion, and great culture among the three facilities are keys to success.

The Chief People & Culture Officer operates with integrity and authenticity and is a visionary, influential member of the executive leadership team, supporting operational teams across the organization. Safety, health & wellness, developing teams and leaders are keys to success in the role, as is fostering progressive and strong labour relations within a unionized environment. They are a natural collaborator who excels at balancing the needs of diverse stakeholders and are motivated to help others succeed within a large organization. They are confident, innovative, and resourceful in fostering workforce engagement enabling organizational success and sustainability.

The ideal candidate has at least 10 years of HR leadership experience, with at least five years in a company of comparable size and production scope. An understanding of a food manufacturing environment is an asset. Strong operational and project management acumen, with experience in developing and communicating ROI or the business case. Demonstrated skills related to systems planning, project execution, system performance and monitoring are required. The CPCO has exceptional people leadership skills, with the ability to support the development of a diverse team (salary and hourly) to achieve significant and sustainable commercial success. They have experience in labour relations, workforce development, and regulatory compliance.
