Job description

Our client, a Toronto-based mining company, is fully financed and permitted to begin development of its high-potential gold projects in Latin America. As Chief Operating Officer, you will play a critical leadership role—starting with the Oxide resource and advancing towards the development of the significantly larger Sulphide deposit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the engineering, construction, and operational ramp-up of the Oxide resource project.
  • Oversee development strategies for the Sulphide deposit, ensuring long-term planning is integrated from the outset.
  • Mitigate risks and manage challenges common to mining operations in Latin America.
  • Provide technical and financial leadership, ensuring optimal project execution and ROI.
  • Support the CEO with investor and stakeholder relations, including presentations and conference appearances as needed.
  • Foster a high-performance culture aligned with safety, sustainability, and community engagement.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Seasoned mining engineer with at least 15+ years of progressive experience in gold mining operations.
  • Proven track record in mine construction, commissioning, and optimization in Latin America.
  • Fluent in Spanish (spoken and written) with strong cross-cultural communication skills.
  • Deep understanding of mine development risks, financial structuring, and permitting.
  • Demonstrated ability to bring added value at the executive level—strategic, operational, and financial.
  • Collaborative leader with a strong business acumen and stakeholder management experience.
