Position Summary

Reporting directly to the CEO, the COO will lead the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of Bioriginal’s manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, and maintenance functions—initially focused on North America, with a view to expanding responsibilities globally.

This role is critical to driving operational excellence, financial performance, and sustainable growth across all business functions. The COO will foster a culture of innovation, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement while ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and optimize operations across manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, warehousing, procurement, engineering, and maintenance.
  • Drive operational efficiency through lean manufacturing and Six Sigma practices.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and uphold the highest quality standards.
  • Collaborate with the Quality team to proactively manage risks and resolve issues.
  • Develop and execute strategies to reduce costs, improve productivity, and support long-term growth.
  • Set and monitor KPIs across all operational functions.
  • Support health and safety initiatives to maintain a safe and compliant workplace.
  • Oversee operational budgets and ensure alignment with financial objectives.
  • Analyze industry trends and forecast global production demands to inform strategic planning.
  • Identify opportunities for expansion, innovation, and technology adoption.
  • Provide regular updates to the CEO and executive team on performance, challenges, and opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 15 years of leadership experience in food or beverage manufacturing, including at least 5 years at the VP level.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and manufacturing best practices.
  • Experience in the nutritional food or supplement industry is an asset.
  • Proven success in leading large, global teams and managing complex operations.
  • Expertise in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and operational technologies.
