Are you a strategic, collaborative leader with deep experience in IT security and a strong presence at the executive level? eHealth Saskatchewan is seeking a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to lead the province's health information security strategy, shaping policy and governance to enable secure innovation and transformational change.

About the Role:

Reporting directly to the CEO, you’ll take the lead on keeping Saskatchewan’s provincial health system secure—from cyber threats to real-world risks. This role involves more than managing systems and protocols; it’s about shaping the future of healthcare by ensuring innovation and security go hand in hand.

You will partner with clinical leaders, IT architects, and policy makers to break down silos, ensuring security as an enabler for patient-focused innovation.

As the strategic leader for eHealth’s approach to IT and physical security, risk, and disaster recovery, you will guide Saskatchewan in digital health advancements, especially with emerging technologies like AI. You’ll work across teams, promote collaboration, and build partnerships to ensure security supports progress. You will also steward approaches to AI risk governance, cloud-native security, and privacy by design to keep Saskatchewan ahead of evolving threats.

What You'll Bring:
  • Executive presence with strong leadership and influencing skills
  • Proven ability to assess risk appetite and guide strategic decisions
  • A collaborative approach fostering trust and alignment
  • Political and organizational savvy in the public sector
  • Deep knowledge of information security, with credentials such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA
  • Expertise in security frameworks like ISO 27001/27002, NIST CSF
  • Experience leading cross-functional security councils or risk committees
  • Success in aligning security investments with organizational strategy and ROI
  • Understanding of identity management, healthcare system integration, and public-sector governance
  • Experience working with boards and executive leadership

This senior leadership role requires a technically skilled, big-picture thinker who is a trusted advisor, capable of connecting with diverse stakeholders and inspiring confidence. Your leadership will help build a future where innovation is secure, digital health is trusted, and Saskatchewan leads in digital health.
