Job description

Europ Assistance Canada (EA Canada), part of the Generali Group, is seeking a Chief Information Officer to join our Travel Insurance and Assistance team in Canada.

We are looking for an experienced candidate who will contribute to building the local operations in Canada. Europ Assistance is a global company operating in over 200 countries, delivering a wide range of products and services.

The Canadian business unit will focus on the Travel Insurance industry, providing product offerings and service solutions to key stakeholders for travelers abroad or within Canada.

Reporting locally to the CEO as part of the Senior Leadership Team, the position also has a dotted line accountability with the IT Head of Expansion Countries.

The role is based in Toronto, with a hybrid work environment combining in-office and remote work, in close collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Driving IT Strategic Development in Canada: Formulate and execute IT strategies aligned with the organization's centralized model and vision, addressing EA Canada's requirements and business objectives. Identify opportunities for technology adoption, innovation, and growth while ensuring consistency, scalability, and efficiency across regions.
  2. Leading the Deployment of Global Tools and Solutions Locally: Foster collaboration among IT experts across different countries. Drive implementation, integration, and testing of global tools to support EA Canada's technology platform and infrastructure evolution.
  3. Supporting Commercial Business Development: Represent EA Canada in partner meetings, RFP & RFI bid proposals, and onboarding projects to support business growth.
  4. IT Oversight & Governance Leadership: Oversee daily technology deliverables, manage recruitment, budgeting, forecasting, and digital roadmap planning. Ensure IT operations align with organizational goals.
  5. Performance Monitoring: Continuously assess performance, evaluating benefits, cost savings, and effectiveness at global, regional, and local levels.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Deep IT and Technology Knowledge: Understanding of IT design software, data management, digital & AI trends, network infrastructure, and IT security.
  • Adaptability: Ability to tailor approaches to regional requirements.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Strong leadership, communication, empathy, and team motivation skills. Ability to oversee technical teams and understand the business value chain.
  • Cultural and Regional Sensitivity: Awareness of cultural norms and ability to work in a multicultural environment.
  • IT Pre-Sales & Sales Activities: Effective communication with clients and prospects.
  • IT Operations Management: Responsible for local IT operations, including budgeting, planning, and project management.
  • Strategy Alignment: Collaborate with global teams to align local IT strategy with company vision.

Flexible language requirement: French not required.
