Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a senior technology executive to develop and drive a multi-year enterprise technology strategy for a complex organization in Toronto. You will lead architecture, cloud, cybersecurity, data and platform modernization while partnering with the C-suite to shape investments and governance.

You will oversee technology operations, vendor management, and workforce development, ensuring resilient, compliant, and future-ready IT capabilities across the enterprise.

Qualifications

Significant experience leading enterprise technology functions within large, complex organizations.
Proven track record developing and executing enterprise technology strategies.
Experience leading modernization, transformation, operating model evolution, and organizational change.
Fluency across enterprise architecture, cloud/hybrid infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, data platforms, integration, automation, IAM, service management, and modern workplace tech.
Understanding responsible use of AI, automation, cloud, cybersecurity, and emerging digital capabilities.
Exceptional communication and business partnership skills with C-suite and senior leaders.
Significant experience managing investments, budgets, vendors, service performance, risk, governance, and resilience.
Strong leadership, talent development, and coaching capabilities.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute a multi-year enterprise technology strategy and roadmaps.
Advise the Executive Leadership Team and business leaders on technology initiatives and outcomes.
Assess and leverage AI, automation, cloud, and modern workplace capabilities.
Communicate strategy, risks, investments, and outcomes in executive forums.
Lead enterprise architecture, infrastructure, applications, integration, data, and cloud.
Guide modernization, platform consolidation, and lifecycle management.
Oversee technology operations, service management, and modern workplace services.
Establish service standards, metrics, and performance expectations.
Lead business continuity, disaster recovery, and operational resilience.
Partner with Information Security on security, privacy, risk, and compliance.
Establish governance, architecture standards, policies, controls, and risk practices.
Manage budget and strategic vendor portfolio.
Build and develop a high-performing technology organization.
Partner with HR on workforce planning and career development.

Job description

Develop and execute a multi-year enterprise technology strategy, roadmaps, investment priorities, and operating plans
Advise the Executive Leadership Team, Managing Partners, and business leaders on technology initiatives and outcomes
Assess and leverage AI, automation, cloud, and modern workplace capabilities
Communicate technology strategy, risks, investments, and outcomes in executive forums and governance committees
Lead enterprise architecture, infrastructure, applications, integration, identity, data, cloud, and solution architecture
Guide modernization, platform consolidation, build-versus-buy decisions, integration, technical debt, resiliency, and lifecycle management
Oversee enterprise technology operations, infrastructure, end-user services, service management, and the modern workplace
Establish service standards, operating metrics, and performance expectations
Lead business continuity, disaster recovery, operational resiliency, and technology adoption
Partner with Information Security leadership on security, privacy, risk, compliance, and regulatory requirements
Establish technology governance, architecture standards, policies, controls, and risk-management practices

Requirements

Significant experience leading enterprise technology functions within large, complex organizations
Proven track record developing and executing enterprise technology strategies
Experience leading modernization, transformation, operating model evolution, and organizational change
Technical fluency across enterprise architecture, cloud and hybrid infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, data platforms, integration, automation, identity and access management, service management, and modern workplace technologies
Understanding of responsible applications of AI, automation, cloud, cybersecurity, and emerging digital capabilities
Exceptional communication and business partnership skills with C-suite and senior leaders
Significant experience managing enterprise technology investments, budgets, strategic vendors, service performance, risk, governance, and operational resilience
Strong leadership, talent development, and coaching capabilities
Familiarity with ITIL 4, COBIT, TOGAF, NIST CSF, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, Zero Trust, Agile, DevSecOps, SRE, FinOps, and cloud well-architected practices
University degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline
Experience in professional services, consulting, or a similarly complex relationship-driven organization is an asset
Advanced degree or relevant executive technology certification is an asset
