The CFO will work closely with the CEO and leadership team to scale operations, manage capital, and ensure financial stability while optimizing vendor relationships and ERP systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy to support both short-term operational goals and long-term growth.
  • Oversee financial planning, forecasting, and risk management to ensure financial stability.
  • Lead the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and investor reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Provide strategic financial guidance to the CEO, board, and leadership team to optimize profitability and scalability.
  • Serve as the key financial advisor for business development, mergers & acquisitions (M&A), and investment opportunities.
Financial Operations & Compliance:
  • Oversee all financial operations in Canada and the U.S., ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and financial reporting standards.
  • Implement and maintain strong internal controls and financial processes to safeguard company assets.
  • Manage accounting, tax, payroll, and treasury functions, ensuring operational efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to financial regulations, including IFRS for reporting and U.S. financial structuring where applicable.
  • Oversee audits and tax filings, working with external auditors and tax consultants to ensure compliance.
Investor Relations & Capital Management:
  • Lead capital raising efforts, including equity financing, debt structuring, and investor relations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with banks, investors, and financial institutions to secure funding and optimize capital structure.
  • Manage cash flow and liquidity to ensure sufficient working capital for business operations.
  • Develop financial models and business cases to support investment decisions and business growth.
Operational Efficiency & Growth Support:
  • Guide the setup and structuring of U.S. operations, including tax planning, payroll, and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead ERP implementation and optimization.
  • Oversee vendor and supplier management, negotiating contracts and optimizing procurement processes.
  • Work closely with operations, sales, and supply chain teams to align financial planning with business goals.
  • Monitor and improve financial KPIs, providing data-driven insights to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Lead and mentor the finance team, including the Director of Finance, Financial Controller, and Senior Financial Controller.
  • Build and scale the finance department as the company expands in the U.S. and beyond.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and financial discipline across the organization.
Experience / Education:
  • Public company experience required, particularly in regulated industries.
  • 10+ years of senior finance leadership experience in cannabis, beverage, manufacturing, or other high-growth sectors.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. financial regulations, tax structures, and reporting. IFRS experience is a plus.
  • Fundraising and investor relations expertise is critical.
  • Experience structuring and scaling financial operations in new markets, particularly the U.S.
  • ERP systems expertise (Epicor preferred, but open to SAP, NetSuite, etc.).
  • Ability to be hands-on in financial processes while shaping long-term strategy.
  • M&A experience is a plus, particularly in U.S. market expansion.
  • High-growth, entrepreneurial mindset – motivated by equity and long-term upside.
Why Join:
  • Growth Opportunity – Take a key leadership role in building the financial foundation and scaling operations into the U.S.
  • High-Impact Role – Lead financial strategy, fundraising, and operational efficiencies in a dynamic industry.
  • Equity & Long-Term Upside – Competitive salary with strong equity incentives.
