Reporting to the President/CEO and serving as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will play a critical role in shaping the financial direction and operational resilience of Adamson Systems Engineering, provide strategic insights, and ensure the financial health of the organization. As we scale our manufacturing capabilities and deepen our global market presence, we are seeking a strategic, commercially savvy, and hands-on CFO to lead financial strategy for investment funding, optimize performance, and enable sustainable, innovation-driven next phase of growth.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Financial Planning: Develop and implement financial strategies that fulfill Adamson’s business aspirations and long-term goals.
  2. Analysis and Reporting: Provide accurate financial reporting for governments and banks, adherence to accounting standards.
  3. Budget Structuring and Control: Diverse departments such as research and product development, capital expenditure & operations, and administration & finance.
  4. Financial Oversight: budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting from product development, through manufacturing, to marketing and customers.
  5. Financial Team Management: Build a high-performing finance team, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement - provide oversight for a small accounting and ERP team.
  6. Data Systems Overview: Work with ERP and IT teams to ensure data integrity and systems efficiency.
  7. Workforce management: Review, analyze and report on cost/performance, effective staffing levels and future direction.
  8. Monthly analytical reporting: Departmental performance & KPIs – assist in the evolution of ERP dashboards.
  9. Management presentations: Prepare and deliver for management for analysis of results and forecasts.
  10. ERP team guidance: Instill in the group an intense cost management ethos and enhance their focus on cost metrics.

What You Will Bring

  1. An MBA (Finance) with 15+ years of progressive executive leadership experience.
  2. 5+ years experience working in manufacturing industry.
  3. Strong command of corporate structuring, strategic planning, and financial management.
  4. Proven success in cost control, financial efficiency, and enterprise-wide budgeting and forecasting.
  5. Expertise in financial modeling, performance analysis, and long-term planning.
  6. Experience leading fundraising efforts and managing investor relations.
  7. Demonstrated ability to integrate financial technologies (ERP, BI, AI) to streamline reporting and enhance decision-making.
  8. Solid understanding of government subsidies and grant programs, including SR&ED, IRAP, and AMIC.
  9. In-depth knowledge of financial compliance, governance, and regulatory frameworks.
  10. Strong leadership presence with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
  11. International finance experience, particularly in Europe, is an asset.
