Job description

Compliance Officer

We are seeking a Compliance Officer to oversee and enhance our compliance program. The role involves establishing, maintaining, and updating compliance policies and procedures, monitoring compliance risks, and providing guidance to senior leadership on regulatory and reputational risks.

The successful candidate will report quarterly to the Head of WFG Compliance, escalate significant issues, and stay abreast of regulatory developments and industry trends. Responsibilities also include overseeing control deficiency assessments, preparing compliance reports for the board, and managing a team of compliance professionals.

**Qualifications:**

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field
  • At least ten years of experience in insurance compliance, with senior management responsibilities
  • Deep understanding of Canadian insurance regulations and experience with regulators such as AMF and FSRA
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Life, Accident, and Sickness / Personal Insurance Licenses across all provinces

**Preferred Qualifications:**

  • Experience with compliance in a regulated environment

**Working Conditions:**

  • Office or hybrid remote environment
  • Moderate travel required
