Join our client as a Chief Civil Structural Engineer for mining and industrial projects in Montreal.

They are looking for a Chief Civil Structural Engineer in Montreal to join their multidisciplinary team. In this strategic role, you will oversee the engineering phases of various civil structure projects related to mineral processing as well as industrial projects (CAPEX and OPEX). You will work in collaboration with chemists, engineers and technicians in an environment that fosters innovation and encourages excellence.

Your responsibilities will include advanced design and supervision of complex civil structures projects, as well as project management. You will also have the opportunity to train and mentor junior and intermediate engineers, ensuring the sustainability of expertise through knowledge transfer.

Essential skills and qualifications:
  • Degree in civil/structural engineering and member of the OIQ;
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience;
  • Leadership and team management skills;
  • Knowledge of resource planning and estimating;
  • Mastery of applicable codes of practice;
  • Excellent communication skills (English and French).
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and engineering team;
  • Collaborate with third parties and different project disciplines;
  • Control costs and meet budgeted deadlines;
  • Manage resources, including employees, contractors and sub-consultants;
  • Ensure the quality of engineering work;
  • Develop engineering standards and procedures;
  • Supervise and develop the structural team.
Employment conditions:
  • Salary of $120,000 to $165,000, depending on experience.
