In anticipation of a project that will commence in the summer of 2025, I am seeking candidates for the role of Chief Accountant.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Chief Accountant to lead our accounting team on this project. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, accounting principles, and regulatory compliance within the infrastructure and civil engineering sector. This role requires exceptional analytical skills, leadership capabilities, and the ability to drive financial strategies that support our company's growth and success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
• Ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal regulations and accounting standards.
• Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements and reports to senior management.
• Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Coordinate and lead the annual audit process.
• Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to support business decisions.
• Mentor and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Experience in the infrastructure and civil engineering sector is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
