Description:

Position Overview

Under the supervision of the Supervisor, Chemical Preparation Operations, the Chemical Preparation Laboratory Technician I is responsible for preparing sensor print mixes, stock solutions, or other chemical mixtures for sensor and test card assembly processes.

Responsibilities
  1. Produce chemical mixtures and calibration fluids used in manufacturing, following standard operating procedures. Observe proper sanitization standards and PPE use while performing tasks.
  2. Prioritize daily tasks based on necessity and inventory to complete tasks in a timely manner; plan chemical production to maintain consistent output.
  3. Keep precise written and electronic records of mixes produced, following good documentation protocols.
  4. Maintain laboratory cleanliness and organization.
  5. Maintain daily laboratory instruments, including balances, hotplates, sonicators, micropipettes, and glassware.
  6. Support material verification for new raw materials by conducting in-house experiments to assess sensor performance.
  7. Assist in process improvements through experimental trials, following approved protocols.
  8. Support interdepartmental chemical requests for in-house testing, communicating clearly to meet deadlines.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Education, and Experience
  • Technical diploma or Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, or equivalent experience.
  • Flexibility to work overtime, on-call, or rotating shifts as required.
  • Ability to execute routine and detailed chemical preparations consistently.
  • Effective team player with ability to fulfill personal responsibilities.
Physical Requirements
  • Manual dexterity.
  • Color discrimination ability.
  • Ability to lift up to 10kg to shoulder level for short periods.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a regulated industry.
