Qualifications

This role is a rotational position that will require you to work at the site for 14 days in camp and 14 days out, or a rotation of 20 days in camp and 10 days out.

Sodexo offers a competitive salary range of $78,000.00 - $87,000.00, as well as extended benefits (Medical, Dental, Optical, Prescription Drug Plan) from day one of your new role. We also offer paid vacation and paid flights to the site.

Job Description

How You’ll Make an Impact:

  • Coordinate and direct the production of food for the restaurant, room service, and catering departments.
  • Manage daily operations of food production including menu planning, purchasing, inventory, food preparation, and cost management.
  • Oversee financials for the food program, including labor cost, food cost, inventory, equipment, and materials.
  • Supervise, mentor, and monitor kitchen leadership teams and evaluate performance to ensure high productivity and optimal team member capabilities.
  • Ensure food service objectives are achieved.
  • Establish operating standards and implement quality improvements.
  • Engage with internal resources to utilize and share Sodexo innovations.
  • Lead culinary programs aligned with our sustainability commitments, including waste reduction, fair trade, local sourcing, conscious packaging, and plant-based menus.
  • Oversee catering functions and special events for internal and external clients/groups.
  • Maintain business relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Promote and market the food program internally and externally.
  • Analyze culinary operations for efficiencies and opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards and legislation, including Food Safety, Food System Management, and HACCP policies.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

  • Red Seal Certification.
  • At least 5 years’ experience as a Chef.
  • Ability to lead the team to meet safety and food quality standards, and to inspire continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of various cuisines is an asset.
  • Understanding of industry standards and legislative policies.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, safety-driven environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Experience with sustainable and plant-based menus is an asset.
  • A genuine passion for food and people, and a desire to provide exceptional customer service.
